Anita Reimann Carr

Anita Reimann Carr, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023, at Mayberry Gardens of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Anita was born July 8, 1929, in Germany.  She survived being on her own as a young teenager in Germany during WWII.  Following WWII, the city in which she was born had been absorbed into modern-day Poland. She was married to Paul Arnold Carr, who preceded her in death. Anita was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrie Lynn Schiefer.

Anita is survived by granddaughter Michelle Marie (Jason) Hooston née Schiefer and great-granddaughter Alessandra Sherrie Hooston

Anita was a lifetime homemaker and a proud Army wife. She and her husband, Paul, lived in many places throughout his twenty-year career. She had a love for dogs and was a breeder for many years. Anita was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Bucyrus and the local chapter of the American Kennel Club. She was an avid reader and was quite an amazing artist, enjoying drawing and painting. In addition, she enjoyed riding her bicycle and had quite a green thumb. She tended her immaculate garden for many years. She was a Lung Cancer survivor of 27 years.

There will be a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Bucyrus, Ohio. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the USO. Remembrances may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com
