Alton B. Harris

Biography:  Alton B. Harris, 98 of Lakeland Florida and formerly of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday September 2, 2018 in Lakeland.  Alton was born July 11, 1920 in Holmes County, OH to the late Harry and Ada Harris.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Olivia Auck, second wife Mary Skaggs, three sons Gerald, Ronald, and Glen Harris; and one step son Derrell Lewis.

Alton is survived by wife Betty (Hess) Miller Harris; children Barbara (Marvin) Kocher, Bob (Kathy) Harris, and Carol (Joe) Cabell; daughter in law Jeannette Harris; step children Donna Downing, Harold Lee Lewis, Michael Lewis, Rosa Phillips, Terry Miller, and Daniel Miller; 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Alton worked at the 3 C Camp, the Rydell Company, and Ohio Crane.  He formed Harris Tri-City Excavation of Bucyrus.  Alton retired to Lakeland Florida 15 years ago.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 22, 2018 at 1100 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Angel officiating and  burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials be made to the donor's choice through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
