Alma Fay Sloan

Alma Fay Sloan, 87 of Bucyrus passed away on Monday October 23, 2023 at the home of her daughter in Bucyrus.  Alma was born January 22, 1936 in Simpson County, Kentucky to the late John Henry Gass and Ruth Eveline (Brown) Gass.  She was married to the late Herman Sloan who passed away in 2003.  Alma was also preceded in death by son Donald Sloan, granddaughter Jessica, and brother Herman “Shorty” Gass.

Alma is survived by children David Sloan, Brenda (Harold) Lehman, and Barbara (Tim) Makeever; grandsons Mitchell, Michael, and John; great grandchildren Zachary, Ryan; Chelsie Tatum, and Keyarah; great great grandchildren Beretta, Bailey, Annabelle, Eevee, Scarlett, Valencia, Odin, Rhett, Jaxton, Ansley, and Elaina; brothers John (Margaret) Gass of TN and Henry (Malinda) Gass of Florida; sister Barbara (Eugene) Perry of TN; as well as nieces and nephews.

Alma worked at Eckleberry Poultry, Heartland of Bucyrus, and Altercare of Bucyrus in the Housekeeping Department.  She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday November 1, 2023 at 2:30 pm in the Oakwood Cemetery with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating.  The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association of the American Cancer Society through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
