Wade James Volkmer, 72 yrs. of age, of 1953 Brokensword Rd., died on Sunday at 3:28 am at home, he had been in failing health for the past 2 years. Mr. Volkmer was born on June 27, 1937 in Brokensword to the late Clemence and Eileen (Cox) Volkmer. He was married July 3, 1956 to Juanita (Vaughn) Volkmer who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Cloyd, Arlo, Paul, and Murray.

Mr. Volkmer is also survived by children Faron (Lynn) Volkmer, Galion; Paula (Mike Ruskinoff) Webster, Oregon, OH; Angela (Donald) Gardner, York, S.C.; Heather (Noel) Tea of Bucyrus; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister Janet (Darrel) Green, Bucyrus.

For a number of years Mr. Volkmer worked at Swan and the Crawford County Highway Dept., in most recent years he worked at Spore Quarry, Altercare, and Aqua Tech in Melmore. For many years Mr. Volkmer ran an upholstery business. He was a member of Brokensword U.M. Church and the Bucyrus Moose Lodge #669 for 24 years.

At Mr. Volkmer's request there will be no formal service or calling hours and his body will be donated to the University of Tennessee. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Mooseheart through the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at munzpirnstill.com
