Sylvia R. Seif, 75 yrs. of age, of 4610 Jackson St., Sulphur Springs died early Tuesday morning at home, her death was unexpected. Sylvia was born Nov. 13, 1933 in Sandusky Twp., Crawford County to the late Richard M. Shealy and Ruth (Pfahler) Shealy who survives in Bucyrus. She was married Nov. 16, 1951 to Ernest Frederic Seif who survives.
In addition to husband and mother, she is survived by children Laura (Dan) McAdams, Cincinnnati; Karen Beck, Bucyrus; Stephen (Carla) Seif, Bucyrus; and Veronica (Doug) Vandayburg, Bucyrus; 14 grandchildren, Ryan (Heather) Powers; Angie (Shane) Rayborn; Tonya McAdams; Carissa (Matthew) Cantrell; Clifford (Rami) Beck III; Ernest (Renee) Beck; Malorie (Jeramie) Vitale; Quintin Beck; Jerad Seif; Trevor Seif; Nicholas (Lauren) Linn; Chelsey Linn; Alex Linn; and Thaddeus Hensel; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Vivian (Robert) Wistner, Dublin, OH; and Dorothy (C. Mitchell) Smith, Lakeland, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia and her husband owned and operated the Emporium News Stand in Bucyrus for 19 years. She lived her entire life in this area and graduated from Sulphur Springs H.S. in 1951. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. and retired as the church organist after 45 yrs., she was also a longtime choir director. Sylvia enjoyed family vacations to the beach, was active in the Bucyrus Little Theatre and a board member of the Crawford County Community Concert Association. For many years Sylvia taught piano lessons and currently had three students, she loved to share her gift of music with others.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ridgeton Rd. with Rev. Jack Kocsis officiating, burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to the Church Memorial Fund, Community Concert Association, or the donors choice.
