Raymond "Ray" Prohaska, 59, former Bucyrus resident died Friday morning July 3, 2009. He had lived at the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, for the past 9 months.
Born July 7, 1949 in Bucyrus, he was the son of the late Robert Prohaska and Violet (Beck) Prohaska Dinkel.
Ray is survived by two children, a grandchild, his step-mom Edith Prohaska of Bucyrus, a brother Jim Prohaska of Columbus, three sisters; Anna (John) Grover of McCutchenville, Kathleen (Tim) Taylor of Bucyrus, Roberta Griggs of Bucyrus and his ex-wife Debbie Prohaska.
He was a 1967 graduate of Bucyrus High School and went to work for a year at General Hydrolics. Ray was then drafted in 1968 into the U.S. Army and served for three years. He also worked at Hy-Miler and enjoyed woodcarving and poetry.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Wednesday July 8, 2009 at 11AM with Pastor Nathan Howe officiating.
