Richard Scott Cross, of Bucyrus and a longtime Marion resident died on Saturday at Bucyrus Community Hospital, he had been seriously ill for the past 4 years. Scotty was born June 4, 1959 in Bucyrus to the late Howard R. and Bette Lee (Henderson) Cross. He was married to Penny Sue (Gay) Cross who preceded him in death in 2007.

Scotty is survived by brother Donald L. Cross, Bucyrus; sister Judy Lewis, Bucyrus and Debra Mahon of Cincinnati, OH; 2 nieces Crystal Lewis of Iowa and Miranda Lewis of Bucyrus; as well as many beloved aunts and uncles.

Scotty moved to Marion in 1983 and back to Bucyrus 4 years ago. He formerly worked at Holiday Inn Convention Center in Delaware for several years and prior to that worked at Speedway in Marion. He was a graduate of Bucyrus High School in 1977 and U.S. Navy Veteran from 1978-1982 serving on the U.S.S. Seattle. Scotty had a great love for his pet dogs and cats.

Funeral Services will be held at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Thursday at 2:00 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
