Roger A. Taylor, 61 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at his home. Roger was born October 22, 1955 in Bucyrus to the late Harold Douglas Taylor and Betty Louise (Hart) Taylor who survives in Bucyrus. Roger was married Oct. 1, 1975 to Penny (Davidson) Taylor who survives. Roger is also survived by daughters Stephanie Kegley, Bucyrus; Angela (Matt) Garrabrant, Tiffin; Chelsey (Jeff) Garrabrant, Cardington; grandchildren Levi, Hunter, Erica, Luke, Lane, Nathan, Fern, Bristoll, Brielle, Nora, Madison, and Taylor; 1 great grandson Jeramiah; brothers Dennis of Tippecanoe, OH; Randall of Hopedale, OH; and Marvin (Melanie) of North Robinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   Read more...

Reyford Blankenship, 91 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday March 16, 2017 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Reyford was born August 17, 1925 in Pikeville, KY to the late Harve and Lonnie Blankenship. He was married Sept. 9, 1944 to Mildred (Wolford) Blankenship who preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1990. Shirley (Grove) Spaid Smernoff Auld
Shirley (Grove) Spaid Smernoff Auld, 86 of Mansfield and formerly of Bucyrus passed away on Sunday March 12, 2017 at The Waterford in Mansfield. Shirley was born June 16, 1930 in Bucyrus to the late Vernon and Bertha Grove. She married Gene Spaid in 1949 and her preceded her in death in 1997. Her second marriage was to Mark Smernoff in 1999, he passed away in 2005 and she was married in 2006 to Arthur Auld who preceded her in death in 2015. Shirley was also preceded in death by daughter Debi Ervin, granddaughter Angela Tackett, son in law Ollie Trout, and her siblings Gordon (Bud) Grove, Joyce Stewart, and Carol Truka.

Silas N. Beal, 78, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH. Silas was born June 28, 1938, in Chatfield, OH to the late John Wesley and Rosena (Kalb) Beal. Edith Prohaska, age 90, passed away March 1, 2017 surrounded by family. Edith was born May 26, 1926 to the late Ernest L. Hickerson and Naomi (Derryberry) Hickerson in Nashville, TN. Edith is preceded in death by parents, first husband Wilbur Wade 1972, second husband Robert Prohaska 2001, sons Ray and Edward Prohaska, brother Earnest Hickerson, sisters Wilella Kelly and Gwendolyn Gipson, son-in-law Richard Moore.

Edith is survived by children, Charles (Loretta) Wade of Bellville, Lucy (J.C. Hall) Perry of Shelby, Louise (Delbert) Brown of Waverly, Wilbur Jr. (Sarah) Wade of Bellvue, and Susan Moore of Mansfield; stepchildren, Annie (John) Grover of Tiffin, James Prohaska of Columbus Kathleen (Tim) Taylor, and Roberta Griggs both of Bucyrus; brothers Len (Judy) Watkins of Georgia, Burton Watkins of Florida, and William Hickerson of Nashville; sister, Mary Edna Yonk of Florida; as well as 10 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Edith first moved to the community in 1977. She became a member with the Lincoln Ave. Church of Christ. Edith loved spending time volunteering at the Carlisle House with hospice care. She also enjoyed spending time with her family when she got the chance to.
Edith’s request was to be donated to a medical college to further the field of medical science research. Arrangements are in the care of Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. There are no services scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Ave. Church of Christ or Home Care Matters Hospice.
