Joyce A. Weir of 5616 Windfall Rd., Galion died early Tuesday in Grayling MI from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident. Joyce was born Nov. 22, 1942 in Lancaster, OH to the late Pearl Edward and Beulah L. (Davis) Walters.
Joyce is survived by five children; Shaun (Kevin) Teynor, Bucyrus; Heather Weir, Marion; Tracey (Mike) Crawford, Ashland, KY; Robert N. Weir, Bucyrus; and John R. Weir of Galion; 10 grandchildren; Jimmy A. Brinson II, Brianna Rankins, Rachel Teynor, Brittni Hart, Noah VanDyke, Garret Kisor, Jacob and Taylor Crawford, Ethan and Jessie Weir, 1 great grandchild Braydon Reed, special friend Chris Detterman of Galion; and her dog Bubba. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson Logan VanDyke.
Joyce retired from the Timken Company Engineering Dept. in 2004. She also had worked at the Togliatis Sewing Center in Mansfield and currently was a demonstrator for Bright Ideas, working primarily at Wal Mart. Joyce moved to Bucyrus as a Junior in High School, graduating from Bucyrus H.S. in 1960 where she was the Homecoming Queen. Joyce also participated in Miss Ohio where she was a runner up. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and babysat with granddaughter Rachel. In addition, she enjoyed her grandchildrens sporting events, loved to sew, and spend time near Daytona Florida.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Corwin officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday where the family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.
