Janet M. "Jan" Horsley, 64, of 919 Failor St. Bucyrus died early Friday morning January 29, 2010 peacefully at her residence from a 18month battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Born in Shelby on January 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Caroline (Ferguson) Lash.
On March 3, 1990 she married Gary Horsley and he survives. Also surviving are 5 sons; Eric J. (Jennifer) Krantz of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jason Eli (Debbie) Krantz of New River, Arizona, Miles Horsley and Rick McWaters both of Bucyrus, Tim McWaters, 4 Grandchildren; Kyle Krantz, Brennon, Makenzie and Toby McWaters, three sisters; Marilyn (Wayne) Beck of Galion, Erma Jean Gallagher of Risingsun, Ohio, Carol (Gary) Stuckman of Bucyrus, 2 nieces and 6 nephews. Jan is preceded in death by a sister Linda R. Lash, a niece and a nephew.

She lived in Sulphur Springs and the family later moved to Bucyrus in 1953. Jan was a 1963 graduate of Bucyrus High School and worked in restaurant service in the Bucyrus community. Jan enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, traveling to visit her sons and will be greatly missed by all of her family.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home where services will be Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 1:30PM with Rev. Carl Angel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus. Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Organization of Rare Disorders in care of the funeral home.
