John F. Cress, 49, of 107 1/2 Harding Way E., Galion died on Tuesday at home, his death was unexpected of an apparent heart attack. John was born March 18, 1960 in Bucyrus to the late Ronald J. Cress and Evelyn (Copper) Baird. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters Cindy Sheets and Tiffany Cress as well as sister Julie J. Cress.
John is survived by children; John (Sarah) Cress II, Bucyrus; Amy (Ryan) Sheets, Galion; Nathan Haycook of Galion; grandchild Jesse Polonis; brothers Michael (Diana Gill) Cress, Fremont; Daniel (Edna) Cress; Bucyrus; Fred (Jamie) Cress, KY; Ronald (Melissa) Cress II, Bucyrus; sister Sylvia Slaughter, Bucyrus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John most recently worked for Urban Industries in Galion. He lived his entire life in the area, attended Bucyrus schools, and served in the Army during Desert Storm. John enjoyed fishing and was a demo derby veteran and Citizens Band Operator under the handle "Iron man".
Memorial Services will be held on Monday at 3:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. James Ellis officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
