Dorothy M. Shoemaker of Bucyrus passed away October 21 at home following a brief illness. Mrs. Shoemaker was born April 28, 1920 in Crawford County to the late Forest and Bernice (Wise) DeWeese. She was married July 9, 1939 to Louis Shoemaker who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 2007. In addition, she was preceded in death by granddaughter Rebecca Brown and brother Woodrow DeWeese.

Dorothy was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by son Forest (Ellen) Shoemaker, Russells' Point, OH; daughter June (Glenn) Martin, Ontario, NY; grandson-in-law Darryl Brown, Ontario, NY; grandson Greg (Jennifer) Shoemaker, Bellville, OH; granddaughter Nicole (BJ) Rohling, Germantown, MD; great grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, and Abigail Brown, Ontario, NY; Jacob and Alexandria Shoemaker, Bellville, OH; and Elizabeth Rohling, Germantown, MD; sister-in-law Marie Shoemaker Lerch of Maine.

Mrs. Shoemaker was a 1938 graduate of Whetstone High School and a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Graveside, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Harold Hasenauer officiating. Friends may call at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday where the family will receive friends from 4-6 pm.
