Dallis B. Easterday, 66 of Bucyrus died early Sunday morning at home following a short illness. He was born in Kenton OH May 2, 1943 to Dallis P and Audrey C (Bloom) Easterday, both deceased. Also preceding him in death are Step Grandparents, William and Dora Easterday, Sisters Julie Harvey, and Virginia Caskey. On October 6, 1972 he married Frances E Dewey who Survives.

Also surviving are Children Pandy (Marc) Brazeau of Richmond VA, H.C. (Donna) Dewey of Quakertown PA, Shari (Bill) Bowlin of Bucyrus, Doreene (Ray) Burkhart of Galion, 10 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, Brother Carl (Stella) Easterday of Bucyrus, Sister Barbara (Tom) Krantz of Bucyrus and several Nieces and Nephews.

He attended schools in Bucyrus and graduated Class of 1961 He was a U S Army Veteran 1961-1964, and worked at General Hydraulics and PPG before joining the Bucyrus Fire Department. Dallis served the Department from 1971, becoming a Lieutenant in 1977, and Captain in 1982. He Graduated from Columbus State College in 1984 with an Associate Degree in Fire Science, and was promoted to Chief in 1986 until retiring in 1996. Following retirement

he continued his love for Bucyrus by serving City Council from 1998 to 2005, also a brief period with Crawford County Commissioners from September of 2001 - January of 2001.He did Recycling and Mentoring at Lincoln School, also was a Currier for United Bank, and most recently he could be seen at Wal-Mart stocking shelves, Cashier, and generally helping people, which he loved to do.

He attended the First Church of the Nazarene, where he helped with Church activities, including Coaching Upward Basketball, Member of the Bucyrus Moose Lodge, Life Member of VFW Post 1078, and Amvets Post 27, enjoyed NASCAR, horse racing, and following his Grandson's sports events, Member of the BHS Athletic Boosters, BHS Sports 200 Club, and was active with the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival.

Friends may call at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Moose Tribute of Service will be recited at 7:45 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the First Church of the Nazarene with Dr Ray LaSalle officiating. Dallis will be transported to Oakwood Cemetery aboard the 1989 Seagrave Engine 1 which he wrote the specifications for. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post #181.
